Library Information & Services

Book Circulation
(check books out/check books in)

  • Staff and currently enrolled students (and parents/guardians of students) may check out (borrow) books, among other items, from our campus library.

  • Students must use either their Agenda or their Language Arts check-out card to check out books.  Student barcodes are printed on these two items.  Student barcodes are the numerical equivalence to students’ ID numbers.   Social security numbers are not used for any type of library transactions.

  • Books are checked out on a 2-week basis.  This is the loan period and the book(s) are due on or before that time.  Should students need the item(s) for a longer period of time, one additional 2-week RENEWAL is possible, unless there is a previous RESERVE (hold) for the item(s).  It is the responsibility of the borrower to come in and RENEW the item(s).

  • Students with overdue items, “lost” or damaged items, and / or fines of greater than fifty cents, will lose library borrowing privileges.  Further consequences (i.e. denial of receiving year books) could also result.

Due Dates

  • When students check out item(s) from the library, a book mark with the due date is placed inside the item(s).  Almost all library items have a 2-week loan period.  It is the borrower’s responsibility to return library items back on time.

Holds/Reserves

  • Every student is entitled to one (1) renewal of an item, unless another student places a “reserve” on the checked-out item.

  • In such cases, the student placing the “reserve” or “hold” is entitled to check out the item, and the renewal privilege is canceled.

  • “Reserves” are filled in the order they are placed.

  • When a “reserved” item is returned to the Library, the student will be notified.

  • After notification, the “reserved” item must be picked up / checked out within two (2) school days.

Library Fines and Replacement Charges

  • A fine of ten cents (.10) per school day will be charged for each overdue item.

  • The maximum fine is $5 per item.

  • After the maximum fine is reached, the item(s) is considered LOST and the student will be billed the price of the item(s).

  • Replacement costs for LOST item(s) are based on TitleWave prices.

  • If a LOST and “paid for” item is found within the fiscal year (June 1-May 31), the replacement cost will be refunded to the student’s parent / guardian.

  • Failure to clear library fines / replacement charges will result in immediate loss of borrowing privileges and could result in further campus consequences (i.e. denial of receiving report cards, year books)

Library Hours/Passes

  • The library is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Fridays. Students must secure a hall pass or signed Agenda to use the Library before school and during class periods.
